My Go-to Travel Gear
I recently traveled around Europe for a few weeks with my wife and my best friend, and I thought it might be helpful to share some of the gear that I used on the trip.
1. RAVPower—Battery
I bought this power brick on Amazon back in July, and it's perfect for traveling. I've used other power bricks in the past, but they tend to only charge my iPhone 7 Plus one or two times before running out of juice. This thing is a monster. It will charge my phone from 0-100% 8 times, and it allows you to charge 3 devices at once.
Downsides: It's a bit heavy, and because the battery is so large it takes a full 12 hours to recharge all the way.
2. Syde—5 ft Metal and Nylon Lightning Cable
My wife and I each have one of these, and they're wonderful. They're super durable, don't get tangled and include a handy little strap for keeping them wound.
Downsides: I couldn't think of any. It's MFi Apple Certified and even less expensive than the official Apple cord right now (on sale for $11.99).
3. Anker—Multiple Port Wall Charger
I've owned this 20 watt 2-port wall charger from Anker for 3 years now, and I've loved it. I would 100% recommend you buy one, if it were still for sale. That said you should definitely check out this updated version of the same thing from the same company.
Downsides: Sometimes one of the prongs will fold in while the other goes in the socket. This means whatever you plug in won't charge. I really hope they've fixed this in the updated version.
4. Bose—QC35 Noise Cancelling Headphones
These are the best headphones I've ever used for travel. They're large but well worth the size and weight. They block out sound better than anything else on the market. I used them for a full 9-hour flight, and they remained charged the whole time.
Downsides: These suckers are expensive.
5. Etc.—I also brought some other tech.
